Belize in February
Each February, snow, ice and freezing weather takes its toll on large portions of the United States and Canada. Indeed, if you live there, you may often find yourself wishing for warmer climes. Of course, you aren’t the only one. Every year, more and more people are choosing to spend the month of February in the Belizean sun.
Of course, the beautiful sunshine isn’t the only thing that continues to draw people to Belize each year. There are also plenty of interesting things to see and do, such as:
Visit Maya Temples
If you are at all interested in learning more about the history and culture of Belize, the ancient Maya temples are the perfect place to do so. You can take a trip back in time to learn everything there is to know about how the ancient Maya civilizations lived, worshipped, and contributed to the world around them. Though there are Maya ruins all over Belize, Xunantunich, Cahal Pech, and Caracol are usually the most popular with visitors.
Go Snorkeling or Scuba Diving
Instead of being stuck inside next to your heater, you could instead be out and about exploring the beautiful marine life that calls Belize home. You can watch the majestic manatees, witness turtles at play, or even take in the sights of schools of fish traversing the crystal blue waters. Of course, no marine tour would be complete without taking a look at the Belize Barrier Reef – the second longest reef anywhere in the world.
If you just want to get out and explore the world around you during your time in Belize, you won’t be disappointed. Though there is no shortage of ways to stay active during your February vacation, horseback riding, kayaking, and biking are always among the most popular ways to explore the country. All of these activities will allow you to take in the natural beauty of Belize in a unique way.

During your time in Belize, you will need somewhere to stay – and the best hotel to stay in the country is Black Orchid Resort. This award-winning resort is situated just 15 minutes from the airport and features a swimming pool, luxurious rooms, a restaurant, spa services, and a whole lot more.
