Belize Wildlife Tours
Over a third of the land in Belize is set aside as protected parks and nature reserves. Guests of Black Orchid Resort can get the chance to interact with some of the amazing birds and animals that call Belize home. Guests will be taken to pristine locations to see an astonishing variety of tropical birds with brightly colored plumes. Guests will also get the rare privilege to see some of Belize's most famous animals up close, including the Black Howler Monkey (called a "baboon" locally), jaguars, tapirs and crocodiles.
Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary
The Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary is one of Belize’s many wildlife reserves. Over 540 species of birds have been spotted in the country, and at Crooked Tree, it is impossible not to be impressed by the abundance of birdlife.

The Belize Zoo
In 1983 upon completion of a film called "Path of the Rain Gods," the movie's production assistant, Sharon Matola, found herself with quite a few nearly tame animals that the movie had featured. Fearing they were no longer capable of surviving the wilds, Sharon set about arranging other accommodations for them. From these humble beginnings, Matola and her staff have built a world-class zoo that is thought to be the best of its kind in the Americas
