Where Should You Stay in Belize?

Reasons To Stay At Black Orchid Resort

Whether you're coming to Belize to enjoy a fabulous vacation exploring the world-class scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, and sailing destinations on the Belize Barrier Reef or want to enjoy exciting adventures on the mainland, it's important to choose the right accommodations. Vacationing in Belize is an exciting, unforgettable time, so it's essential to have an oasis of tranquility and comfort to relax in after a long day of sightseeing, tours, and adventures.

Belize is a relatively small country approximately the same size as the state of Massachusetts. But the country's sparse population (roughly 360,000 inhabitants) are spread between pristine forests, jungles teeming with wildlife, mountains, waterfalls, and wetlands. Many visitors wonder whether they should choose a resort close to the eco-tourism options like cave tubing, white water rafting, horseback riding, and zip lining available on the mainland or choose one that enjoys a fabulous view of the Caribbean and its many offshore islands.

Choosing a resort like Black Orchid gives you the best of all worlds. The Black Orchid resort is conveniently close to almost all the top destinations in the country, including the Belize City international airport, the island of Ambergris Caye and the Belize Barrier Reef, national parks, animal sanctuaries, and numerous ancient Maya ruins. With its prime location, guests of the Black Orchid Resort can make an easy day trip to the jungle one day while enjoying all the fun of the reef on another day.

Belize City is just a short drive away from the resort. Long the colonial capital, Belize City has preserved much of its Victorian-era architecture, including a former prison that now houses the Belize Museum. Popular destinations in Belize City include visiting the famous Baron Bliss Lighthouse and touring the Traveller's Rum Distillery, complete with free tastings.

The Black Orchid resort is the perfect place to relax and recharge. Featuring sumptuous villas, beautiful rooms, and elegant suites all located just steps from the beautiful Belize River, the resort has its own gourmet restaurant and screened-in porch where guests can enjoy a cocktail or a delicious meal while admiring the view of the surrounding nature.

All guests of the Black Orchid Resort enjoy free high-speed wireless internet, free shuttle service to and from the international airport, access to the rooftop lounge and jacuzzi, and the use of kayaks, paddle boats, canoes, and bicycles.
